The evaluation criteria are designed to fairly and comprehensively assess the contributions of grantees during the 5-month retro period. They focus on the impact of their work within the OP and Superchain ecosystems, the quality and outcomes of their contributions, and the transparency and accountability demonstrated through their reporting.
1. Advancement within the OP Ecosystem
Evaluates ecosystem-level contributions and how significantly the grantee's work contributed to the growth, development, and awareness of token engineering within the OP and Superchain ecosystems. It includes both measurable outcomes that drive adoption and awareness initiatives that lay the groundwork for ecosystem engagement.
Adoption: Focuses on tangible, measurable integrations or usage of deliverables.
Awareness: Focuses on visibility and outreach efforts leading to potential ecosystem engagement.
Metrics:
- Tooling:
- Adoption: Number of projects integrating the tool, growth in smart contract deployments, and user engagement metrics
- Awareness: Outreach efforts to promote the tool (e.g., blog posts, demos, workshops) and feedback from early adopters or community members
- Research:
- Adoption: Use of research findings by ecosystem projects, influence on governance or decision-making, and citations or references within the community
- Awareness: Public dissemination efforts (e.g., presentations, publications, community forums) and engagement metrics such as shares, discussions, or comments on research findings
- Education:
- Adoption: Increase in skilled contributors due to the educational program, number of learners applying knowledge in ecosystem projects
- Awareness: Reach of educational materials (e.g., course enrollment, views on recorded content), feedback from participants, and visibility within the ecosystem (e.g., mentions or shares)
- Social Infrastructure:
- Adoption: Number of projects/DAOs implementing social or coordination frameworks (e.g., tools to improve collaboration across teams or ecosystems), improvements in governance participation (e.g., voter turnout, participation rates) and changes in decision-making practices; integration with existing governance or coordination systems to enhance their functionality
- Awareness: Engagement with governance initiatives (e.g., community discussions, attendance in governance calls) and awareness-building activities that educate participants about governance processes
- Consulting & Services:
- Adoption: Number of ecosystem projects improved through consulting or services, client feedback on tangible benefits
- Awareness: Efforts to educate the ecosystem on consulting best practices, such as case studies, client testimonials, or workshops on tokenomics and technical optimization
2. Proven Contributions and Results
Assesses documented, retroactive contributions and the grantee’s ability to produce clear, measurable results during the retro period.
Core assessment factors:
- Tangible Outputs: Deliverables created during the retro period, aligned with the scope of contributions, and evaluated on their completeness and functionality (e.g., a functional tool, a published research paper, or a finished educational program)
- Realized Results: Measurable outcomes or usage of the outputs during the retro period, demonstrating their effectiveness and success ****(e.g., a tool integrated into three projects, a research paper cited in governance decisions, or an educational program completed by 50 leaarners)
- Stakeholder Impact: External feedback or validation indicating the deliverables’ real-world utility and ecosystem value (e.g., testimonials from users, endorsements from ecosystem partners, or public recognition of the grantee’s work)
